Show Notes

In her own words, ten days prior to her 50th birthday, Prof Sears posted this on Facebook:

“T minus 10 days to the big 5-0!!! Crazy!

Lots of people fear this birthday- not me- I’m filled with anxious anticipation!

I’ve been blessed with an incredible first half-century of my life: grew three beautiful babies, led so many of my colleagues to have the careers of their dreams, trained countless medical students, residents and fellows, cured hundreds of patients from hepatitis, prevented hundreds of colon cancers, empowered hundreds to take control of their health and symptoms, led six women-in-medicine conferences touching over 350 of my most high-risk-for-burnout colleagues, I’ve developed deep relationships with so many people around the country and planet through coaching, recently been promoted to professor, have amazingly fulfilling relationships with authentic and imperfect humans and continue to lead wellbeing efforts and programs locally, nationally and internationally - pinch me!!!! My life has been FAR from perfect and the final chapters are not written!

Join me in celebrating all of our victories - we wait until funerals or tragedy to do this….no more! Celebrate NOW!”
